They have changed their minds about this recently. They used to say it was against the guidelines, but it's acceptable now so long as the content is created "with a human audience in mind". In other words, no spam. If it looks like real content, they don't care who - or what - wrote it.
That's a more sensible distinction than "human or AI", even if it is harder to police. Their focus *should* be the user experience, after all.
